Our Story

With well over a decade in the construction trades as a landscaper, green roofer, mason and carpenter, Liam Hall has vast experience and appreciation for working with natural materials. He has dedicated his career to responsible and sustainable techniques and practices. He now carries this passion into Longview Woodworks designs and products.

The wood for each Longview Woodworks product is locally sourced, often from logging refuse or small supplies from areas harvested for other types of timber. The live edge, natural shape and wood grain are his focus in determining the purpose, the design and the finish for each piece. Beeswax, pure tung oil or raw linseed oil are used as food-safe finishes to enhance and protect the wood’s natural colour. The selected hardware - reclaimed door knobs and drawer handles, or bottle openers - further accent the piece’s distinct features.

Longview Alberta

Longview, a small town in southern Alberta, is the inspiration for Longview Woodworks. The natural beauty, the rustic nature and the purposeful intent of the Longview family farm land, structures and tools, where Liam spent his childhood, are reflected in his craft designs. It was on this farm where his family branded cattle every season, and why Longview Woodworks has a unique brand of its own that can be found on each individually crafted product.
