The Shop

The Shop

It has been a year since we packed up the tools and moved off our covered deck and into a proper shop. To be honest, I loved that deck – working outside with Missy, birds, neighbours, a warm breeze – but it was really silly as a long-term solution. There was sawdust blowing in all the time, the wind wreaking havoc on the workstation and an inability to separate work from home. Add that to the need to purchase a bandsaw and the writing was on the wall, it was time to move.

So we grabbed our graph paper, shopvac and paint cans and started making a new professional home – 439 Hillside – right in the heart of Rock Bay. Today I get to step outside and smell the boiling vats of wort across the street, the coffee roasting upstairs or the waffle cones across the alley. We’ve found a new place to come in the mornings and it has a roof, ample power and smells of wood, beeswax and a little lemon oil.

Often on a Friday afternoon you’ll find us catching up with friends, conceiving of new ideas and keeping the little G’s or Louis' out of the sawdust piles. Doors are always open!
